On May 1st, 2021, Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland hosted the fundraiser kickoff event for Pearland’s first All-inclusive Playground at the Shadow Creek Ranch Sports Complex. The playground is expected to come to life next year. Twelve AYLUS Pearland members, divided into 2 shifts, volunteered at the event. The first-shift volunteers were responsible for setting up the tables, gifts, sign-up desk, and unloading the photographer’s equipment. They also helped arrange the snacks/water for the attendees. The 2nd shift of volunteers arrived during the event and stayed until the end to cleanup and remove all the displays and decors after the gathering.
During the event, Kevin Cole, the Mayor of Pearland, gave a touching speech sharing how significantly the future playground would impact his family. AYLUS Pearland donated $300 of proceeds from its Spring Seedling Sale to this project.
