On July 3rd, 2021, AYLUS volunteers planted poles and put-up flags to celebrate Independence Day for the 5th year in a row. The sponsors who provide the flags were Houston 80/20 and Houston C.A.R.E. The event was held in Houston Chinatown .
The volunteers arrived at around 7:30 AM and then were shown how to set up the flags. After being shown the process, they were split into groups and began setting up flags until they finished at around 10:30 AM. Within 3 hours, AYLUS team finished 40 flags planting around the Plaza American. Everyone worked hard and helped wherever they could. It takes 1 hour from Pearland to Plaza American and back.
The 10 volunteers are: Enny Gong, Geoffrey Liu, Zixuan Liu, Jerry Gu, Matthew Li, Andy Jiang, Zide Liu, Alex Dai, Edwin Gao, and Ethan Gao.
