During the first week of June, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 6/5.
Mike Bai tutored Ben Guo on Chinese on Saturday, 6/5, for one and a half hours.
Edward Liu tutored Daniel Wang, Eric Cheng, Gavin Zheng, and Philip Zhang on English on Saturday, 6/5, for one and a half hours.
Meijia He tutored Andrew Xu, Ella Cai, Alicia Xu, and Gloria Li on Spanish on Saturday, 6/5, for one and a half hours.
Ryan Hua tutored Elaine Zhao and Max Zhang on American History on Sunday, 6/6, for one and a half hours.
Andrew Chen tutored Aaron Zhang, Aidan Zhang, Linda Yang, Valen Miao, Junpeng Zhao, Jessica Jiang, Philip Zhang, Tony Yi, and Alice Xu on 5th WW3000 on Friday, 6/4, for one and a half hours.
Eric Lin tutored James Hu, Laurene Yu, Emma Lam, Peter Chen, Eric Mu, Ryan Gao, Darren Cui, Linda Yang, Emily Zhang, Max Zhang, Brian Zhou, Alice Xu, Yuhong Zhai, Annie Amber, Hong Xue, Miranda, Elie Lin, and Annabelle L on 4th WW3000 on Thursday, 6/3, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 50 participants in this event, with 7 volunteers.
The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 66th online Language Challenge Camp activity on June 5th, 2021.
