During the fourth week of May, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 5/22.
Mike Bai tutored Ben Guo on Chinese on Saturday, 5/22, for one and a half hours.
Eric Lin tutored Darren Cui, Edmond, Giulietta Wu, Ryan Gao, and Junpeng Zhao on English on Saturday, 5/22, for one and a half hours.
Meijia He tutored Andrew Xu, Alice Xu, and Ella Cai on Spanish on Saturday, 5/22, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 15 participants in this event, with 4 volunteers.
