Class was held in three breakout rooms, with the tutors working in pairs of two along with an advisor to run a class in each room. The Ponddy Reader application was utilized as the educational tool through which tutors taught students.
Each class and breakout room are targeted towards student’s skill levels, and will go at a slower or faster pace to accommodate student’s needs. Tutors continued their read-throughs and presentations about “Journey to the West”. Students took turns reading each paragraph, with the tutors assisting them with pronunciation and understanding of the text. Tutors also prepared short vocabulary word presentations and quick videos and games (utilizing YouTube, Google Slides and Quizizz) to promote student engagement.
The lesson breakout rooms lasted one hour and were followed by a short discussion and conclusion section.
At the end of class today, students were led through activities to create posters for our Stop Asian Hate poster campaign. They picked slogans or quotes they connected with and created posters with art supplies at home.
