San Diego branch organized the 28th Ever Online Challenge Camp on August 29th,2020

Reported by Samuel Li

On August 29th, San Diego Branch students hosted an online Challenge Camp tutoring program. The purpose of the activity was to allow older volunteers to tutor and teach younger students on various subjects of interest.

Due to the current circumstances, AYLUS San Diego moved their activity online, teaching the students through zoom video conferences. Due to several factors, this activity has received more volunteer participation, to a point where the entire lesson was several 1-on-1, 1-on-2, 1-on-3, and 1-on-four sessions. First, both the students and the volunteers joined a main zoom room, for attendance and a general briefing of how the activity will operate. Next, they split up into several break-out rooms and begin the lessons. At the end of the activity, everyone returned to the main zoom classroom for a final check, and to receive feedback for the new activity.

Through this event, young students were taught various subjects, including Chinese, English writing, Spanish, Piano, Sax, Flute, Chess and Coding

The following volunteers participated in the 28th online Challenge Camp: Ruiqi Ding, Haobin Cao, Andrew Chen, Austin Pierce, Yicheng Liu, Edward Liu, Meijia He, Eric Lin, Emma Li, Jonathan Backues, Eric Li, Emma Li, Luke Qiao, Daniel Li, Qiyao (Alvin) Zheng, Anthony Yao, Hausen Wu, and Harry Li

There were a total of 50 participants in this event.
