The Columbus Branch held a board meeting on August 3, 2020 to discuss the ideas brought up by various branch members. Patrick Wang, Kevin Wang, Angelika-Lili Susanto, and Erica Shen were able to attend.
A summary of the board meeting:
1. We vetoed the elderly English teaching project, due to concerns with quality control.
2. Due to a depleted budget, we decided to gauge AYLUS member’s interests in continuing mask-making. If any AYLUS members do not want to continue to make masks, they can also participate in making ear-savers to go with the masks. AYLUS members are also free to participate in both.
3. We agreed to launch the next Senior Star video project, this time opening editor positions to include more AYLUS members in the video creation process.
4. We proposed a project idea to donate origami cranes with encouraging messages to our local community, joining the City of Dublin’s Flocks of Hope project.
5. Angelika-Lili Susanto will also be contacting local children’s hospitals to see if they would be interested in receiving donated handmade crafts.
6.We greenlit Patrick Wang’s idea of hosting video seminars to better prepare rising freshmen for difficult highschool classes.
