San Diego Branch hosted the first Basketball for All event on July 3rd, 2020.

Reported by Samuel Li

On July 3rd, 2020, AYLUS San Diego Branch organized the first Basketball for All event. Through this event, AYLUS volunteers hope to spread their love of basketball during an unusual time where many people have been stuck inside their homes.

Due to current circumstances, many people are spending lots of time within their homes. So to stay healthy, AYLUS San Diego volunteers are providing basketball lessons to people who want to work on their game or just to have fun for free. All coaches have a vast amount of experience with both playing and teaching the sport. Anyone interested in getting into the sport or simply improving their skills may join the event as a student/player.

In this event, the volunteers taught the participating students a wide array of skills essential to playing basketball. Volunteers led the students through the following activities: Teaching kids basic dribbling, shooting, one on one skills, and defense practice, followed by a scrimmage.

The following volunteers participated in the 1st Basketball for All activity:  Harry Li, Isaiah Dihn, Noah Ahooja

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 1st Basketball for All activity on July 3rd, 2020.
