On August 15, several members of the AYLUS Houston Branch helped with the setup, logistics, and breakdown for a college advice presentation hosted by the Katy Chinese Service Center at Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church. The list of speakers, all attending prestigious universities this fall, included Sunny Tang – Harvard University, Alice Wang – Columbia University, Lainey Wang – Stanford University, and Naveen Venkat – MIT. They shared insightful knowledge about exploring one’s interests, making use of high school, and navigating the college admissions process. At the same time, they opened up about their own personal experiences during high school and application season. After an opening statement from each speaker, they responded to audience questions and gave thoughtful answers regarding the importance of various activities to one’s future college and career.
