On July 27th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 31st Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.
- Cloned 175 Hard Drives
- Sanitized 55 Hard Drives
- Destroyed 21 Hard Drives
- Tested 198 Hard Drives
- Counted 1,450 160GB Hard Drives
- Sleeved 30 tablets
- Sorted & Cleaned 907 Power Adapters for Tablets
- Sorted & Cleaned 762 Power Adapters for Laptops
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 2,092 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 74 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 2,870 hard drives
- Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 4,381 mice, and power cords/adaptors
- Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers
