The Houston Branch Supports Flood Victims and Volunteers (Day 6)

Today, September 9th, concludes the Houston Branch’s 6 day long project of distributing meals to the Grand Lakes community! After Hurricane Harvey decimated 40,000 Houston homes, the Houston Branch has done everything they could to support locals whose homes have fallen victim to flooding and damaging winds. This past week, the Houston Branch has consistently provided free meals, cut fruit, water, snacks, and drinks to aid the local neighborhood. The Houston Branch ended so strongly with a whopping total of 450 meals!

We would like to express our appreciation to the many restaurants who have donated meals, such as Panda Express, Ling’s Restaurant, E-Star Buffet, and more. Also, a special appreciation to Aaron Tsui for helping lead today’s event, to Jacky Jiang for donating 230 meals, and to Jerry Wan and Alan Wan for providing the whole day’s worth of cut fruit!

Thanks to Sophia Jiang, Aaron Tsui, Alan Wan, Jacky Jiang, Kevin Jiang, Jack Sun, Jonathan Liu, and all the members who helped prepare meals to make this project possible!

School will begin on Monday! Make sure to rest well, stay healthy, and be proud of all the work that you have accomplished! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
