Houston Branch Donates Books to Katy ISD

After Harvey hit, many homes were ruined, countless businesses were shut down, and a myriad of schools were flooded in. Of all these schools, two of them, Sue Creech Elementary and Rodger & Ellen Beck Junior High, belonged in the Katy Independent School District. The Katy Independent School District is home to many members within the Houston Branch. Sue Creech Elementary and Rodger & Ellen Beck Junior High have suffered major damages to their classrooms and libraries due to high flood waters. The Katy ISD has since asked for book donations to help restore these school libraries.

On September 3rd, in an effort to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, the Houston Branch accumulated and donated some 850 books to Kingdoms and Wheels! Being the Houston Branch, we couldn’t stand by as many Houstonians continue to suffer. Kingdoms and Wheels was temporarily housing all the books that were being donated since both Sue Creech and Beck Junior High were going under renovations. The Houston Branch’s act of donation will directly impact the Katy community, as every single book will help restore the library shelves of local Katy schools!

Thanks to Rachel Yuan, Aaron Tsui, Alan Wan, Eric Li, Jerry Wan, Jonathan Liu, and Nathan Yuan for coming out!
