On July 28, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized the the 7th Computer for Kids Lab to repair computers and give them to children of low income families to help kids achieve academic success through technology.
The students repaired 167 notebooks/PCs, folded and packed 150 mice and power cords, and wrapped, sorted, and packaged 441 adapters.
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the Computer for Kids program started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, and tested 1545 notebooks/netbooks/laptops
- Blown out and cleaned 12 Computers
- Tested 401 hard drives
- Tested 55 LCD monitors
- boxed 150 netbooks for distribution
- Folded and packed 2600 mice and Power cords
- Wrapped, sorted, and packaged 1036 notebook adapters
All the laptops/netbooks/notebooks will be donated to children of needed families so they can have a computer to work at home.
