Christopher Yang and Stephen Yang of the San Diego Branch provided music therapies to a brain injury patient Annie on a weekly basis for two years in a row.
Annie suffered from brain injury, three strokes, three heart attacks, and injury of her internal organs from a boating accident when she was 14, thirteen years ago. She was a young, beautiful, and healthy little girl before the accident. She was paralyzed and could not speak clearly from the accident. Before the San Diego Branch treated her about two years ago, the fingers of Annie’s left and right hands can’t be separated from each other. After many hours of music therapies from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS, the fingers of Annie’s right hand can be separated from each other several months ago. Annie Mom was full of joy and said it is a miracle. She is very grateful for what the AYLUS San Diego Branch has done for her daughter.
Now that the fingers of Annie’s right hands could move freely, she is using the music therapies to increase her attention span. With her new found freedom, Annie now practice diligently with a keyboard at home. She can also play some simple piano songs learned from Christopher and Stephen. To her Mom and fellow patients at the San Diego Brain Injury Foundation who knew her past, this is truly a miracle.
