Each year, as the holiday season approaches, families all over the world gather together to celebrate. However, there are also myriad of families which aren’t as fortunate as us, and struggle just to put food on the table, much less worry about exchanging gifts. Millions of children come home to an empty Christmas tree.
On December 23rd, the AYLUS Houston Branch accumulated various gifts for these children. Among the gifts, were teddy bears, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, books, sports equipment, piggy banks, night lights, school supplies, clothes, and dolls. In total, the Houston Branch members produced around 80 gifts! The gifts were organized into boxes and were dropped off at the Star of Hope Transitional Living Center on December 24th! The Star of Hope Organization will be distributing the gifts to these families on Christmas morning.
Members who participated were: Aileen Lu, Alice Liu, Amy Yang, Clio Sun, Flora Hu, Jonathan Liu, Kevin Gao, Seann D’Souza, and Thomas Yeum.
Clio Sun & Jonathan Liu organized the event.
