2016 AYLUS Greater Houston Book Drive is a Success

The 2016 AYLUS Book Drive has been a fantastic success in the Greater Houston Area. Under the direction of Emily Wang and Tony Liu, the Sugar Land Branch, Houston Branch, and Pearland Branch have collected over 800 books in total through book collection events and bins placed strategically throughout the Metro Houston Area, and have teamed up to donate 300 of those books to the Pediatric Unit in Memorial Hermann Southwest. Working with Ms. Burris Bell, the books were delivered safely into the hands of the hospital, and news about AYLUS’ contributions will be spread internally within Memorial Hermann.
The mission of promoting literacy has been met, and it is an even greater deed that we have done so while aiding the ailing children of Memorial Hermann. The branches contributions will help patients occupy themselves and learn while undergoing the process of healing, as well as help mothers entertain their newborns.
With such a successful event completed, AYLUS will surely work to make next year’s book drive an even greater accomplishment.
