On the week of Earth Day, the North Shore branch made an announcement in school to spread awareness about preserving our environment. The branch leaders including Andy Yang and Josephine Chuang informed students of the benefits of composting and encouraged everyone to do so in their backyards and gardens. By letting organic waste decompose and be reused as soil rich in nutrients (instead of being dumped in landfill), not only does compost help the earth, it also saves money on fertilizers. It’s a simple activity, with a great value.
