TX Branches Join Forces to Raise Funds for Tianjin Explosion Victims!

On August 12th, 2015, there were two large explosions that occured within seconds of each other in Tianjin, China. These explosions resulted from an industrial accident, and set several uncontrolled fires within the area. Throughout the next few days, the fire repeatedly sparked additional secondary explosions, with 8 occurring within a single day. This tragedy was responsible for more than 100 deaths and 700 injuries, as well as causing almost 100 people to go missing in the confusion.

To help assist in the relief effort for the Tianjin explosions, the Fort Bend TX Branch and Sugar Land TX Branch joined forces to help raise money for the families who lost their loved ones. Branch members Eric Wu, Gan Liu, David Lin, and Jason Wu from the Fort Bend TX Branch were present at the fund-raising event. The Congressman of the Houston district, Al Green, and many others also came to offer their support for the donation. The event turned out to be very successful! We raised more than $6000! We are very glad that we were able to contribute towards the ongoing relief effort.
